UniFi Pro XG 24 Switch USW-PRO-XG-24 | UniFi Pro XG 24 Layer 3 10G Switch

10 GbE at the access layer without paying enterprise prices

The USW-PRO-XG-24 solves the problem UniFi’s smaller Pro switches don’t: you have workstations, NAS boxes, video-editing rigs, or a mesh of high-density APs on injectors that all want a real 10 GbE port, not a shared 1 G uplink. This switch gives you sixteen of them every port running at 10G simultaneously without oversubscription plus 25G SFP28 uplinks to your core, in a 1U rack and a single AC feed.

Full non-blocking throughput at 10G on every RJ45 port. No shared blocks, no port groups that share a lane, no fine print. Sixteen ports × 10G in and 10G out is 320 Gbps of usable capacity, well inside the switch’s 460 Gbps fabric.

Where this sits in the UniFi switch line

Switch Access ports Uplinks PoE Positioning
USW-PRO-XG-24 (this SKU) 16× 10G + 8× 2.5G RJ45 2× 25G SFP28 No 10G access, self-powered gear
USW-Pro-XG-24-PoE 16× 10G + 8× 2.5G RJ45 (all PoE+++) 2× 25G SFP28 720 W PoE+++ 10G access with PoE at every port
USW-Pro-Max-24 24× 2.5G RJ45 2× 10G SFP+ No 2.5G access with 10G uplinks
USW-Pro-XG-48 48× 10G + 4× 25G SFP28 4× 25G No Higher-density aggregation

Choose the non-PoE USW-PRO-XG-24 when devices bring their own power servers, workstations, storage, and standalone APs. Save roughly $700 versus the PoE variant.

Etherlighting actually useful in a dense rack

Etherlighting is UniFi’s colour-coded port illumination system. Each port’s LED strip reflects its VLAN, link speed, or activity state set from the UniFi Network app. In a 24-port switch with sixteen 10G active links across five VLANs, that’s the difference between chasing a mis-patched cable with a laptop and walking up to the rack and seeing it. Paired with UniFi Etherlighting patch cables, the same colour travels across the panel to the endpoint.

Above the ports, a 1.3″ front-panel touchscreen shows uptime, load, and per-port stats without opening the app.

Layer 3 features that eliminate gateway hairpin

Inter-VLAN routing, DHCP server, and static routing run on the switch, so traffic between VLANs stops travelling up to the gateway and back down. On a small business network with a handful of subnets, that alone can halve your gateway’s east-west load and cut a few milliseconds off internal traffic.

L3 features included:

  • Inter-VLAN routing (local networks)
  • DHCP server (local networks)
  • DHCP relay
  • IPv4 static routing — up to 512 routes

Full L2 feature set: LACP link aggregation, STP/RSTP, IGMP snooping, 802.1X port-based auth, DHCP snooping and guarding, MAC/IP ACLs, storm control, jumbo frames, LLDP-MED, voice VLAN, loop protection, port mirroring, and per-port isolation.

25G SFP28 uplinks headroom for the next core upgrade

The two 25G SFP28 ports run at 25G, 10G, or 1G so you can uplink into an existing 10G core today, and migrate to 25G aggregation later without replacing the switch. Combine them in an LACP LAG for a 50G trunk to a matching aggregation switch. SFP28 ports are backward compatible with all common SFP+/SFP transceivers and DACs.

DC power backup ready no gap when mains drops

The rear panel carries a USP RPS DC input alongside the AC feed. Attach a UniFi SmartPower Redundant Power System (sold separately) and the switch fails over from AC to DC without a link drop. Purpose-built for production networks where a five-second reconvergence hurts.
