UniFi G5 Dome Ultra Black | 4MP 2K PoE Indoor Camera

The UniFi G5 Dome Ultra is one of the smallest cameras in the UniFi Protect lineup a 4MP dome that mounts flush on a ceiling or wall, captures sharp 2K video at 30fps across a wide 102.4° field of view, and blends in so well most people never notice it. This is the black variant, designed to match dark ceilings, soffits, and commercial interiors where a white camera would stand out.

Powered by PoE (one cable for data and power), managed through UniFi Protect, and built with IR night vision, two-way audio, and AI-driven event detection it’s a complete indoor security camera that installs in minutes and runs itself.

4MP (2K) at 30fps sharp, detailed footage

The G5 Dome Ultra captures at 2688 × 1512 resolution (4MP) at a full 30 frames per second using a 1/2.4″ CMOS sensor. That’s enough detail to identify faces, read badges, and pick out specifics in the frame — not just see that “someone was there.” H.264 and H.265 encoding keeps file sizes manageable without sacrificing image quality.

102.4° wide field of view

A fixed lens delivers a 102.4° horizontal field of view (54.9° vertical, 120.6° diagonal), covering an entire room, hallway, or retail floor from a single ceiling mount. One camera does the job of two narrower units, reducing camera count and install complexity.

Night vision up to 20m (65ft)

A built-in IR LED with an IR cut filter provides clear black-and-white footage in total darkness out to approximately 20 metres. Entrance halls, corridors, offices, and retail spaces stay covered around the clock no separate lighting needed.

Two-way audio

An integrated microphone and speaker enable two-way communication directly through the camera. Talk to a visitor, issue a warning, or listen to the environment all from the UniFi Protect app on your phone.

AI event detection

Smart detection distinguishes between people, vehicles, and general motion, so you get alerts that matter rather than notifications every time a shadow moves. This cuts false alerts dramatically and makes the camera’s recordings easier to search.

PoE one cable, done

The G5 Dome Ultra runs on 802.3af PoE, drawing roughly 7.5W a single Ethernet cable from your PoE switch or injector carries both power and data. No separate power adapter, no second cable, no outlet near the camera.

Ultra-compact, tamper-resistant, discreet

The dome housing is ultra-compact and IK06 impact-rated, making it resistant to casual tampering. The black finish blends into dark ceilings and commercial interiors, and an optional flush mount accessory (sold separately) lets you recess it into the ceiling for a near-invisible install.

Black vs white which to choose?

Both models are identical in specs. Choose black for dark ceilings, commercial interiors, and anywhere a white dome would be conspicuous. Choose white for standard residential or office ceilings. It’s a purely aesthetic decision performance is the same.
