Ubiquiti UniFi AI Turret (UVC-AI-TURRET-W) | 4K · AI Detection · All-Weather · Vandal-Proof · White
4K surveillance with a brain it sees, identifies, and alerts
The UniFi AI Turret is Ubiquiti’s smartest turret camera: 4K resolution on a large 1/1.8″ sensor, enhanced AI that recognises faces, reads licence plates, and distinguishes people from vehicles from animals all inside an IP66 weatherproof, IK08 vandal-proof body that handles NZ conditions year-round. It’s not just recording what happens; it’s understanding what it sees and telling you what matters.
One PoE+ cable for power and data, a 109.9° wide-angle view, 40-metre IR night vision, a built-in floodlight for colour-at-night, and two-way audio with noise cancellation all managed through UniFi Protect alongside the rest of your UniFi security system.
4K (8MP) on a 1/1.8″ sensor
The AI Turret captures 3840 × 2160 at 30 fps using a large 1/1.8″ 8MP sensor significantly bigger than the 1/2.8″ or 1/3″ sensors in most competing cameras. That larger sensor pulls in more light and more detail, which matters most at night and in low light when cheaper cameras fall apart. The result is footage sharp enough to zoom in on a face or a plate and still have something usable.
HDR, 2D/3D noise reduction, and motion-adaptive noise processing keep the image clean across lighting conditions bright sun, deep shadow, and everything in between.
Enhanced AI faces, plates, people, vehicles, animals
This isn’t motion detection that fires on every swaying branch. The AI Turret runs on-device AI recognition that identifies and categorises what it sees:
- Face recognition — identify known and unknown faces, building a database of who comes and goes
- Licence plate recognition — read plates automatically for vehicle logging and alerts
- Smart detections — distinguish between people, vehicles, and animals, filtering out false triggers
You get alerts that matter a person at the door, a vehicle in the driveway, a delivery, an unfamiliar face not a notification every time a cat walks past.
40m IR night vision + 400-lumen floodlight
Built-in IR LEDs reach 40 metres (131 feet) for clear black-and-white footage in total darkness. Switch on the integrated 400-lumen visible-light floodlight and you get full-colour night video plus a visible deterrent enough light to illuminate a driveway, doorway, or yard and capture colour detail after dark.
109.9° ultra-wide field of view
The fixed lens delivers a 109.9° horizontal (134.1° diagonal) angle of view wide enough to cover a driveway, a shop entrance, or a full yard from a single mount without the distortion that plagues ultra-fisheye lenses. One camera covers the space that narrower models need two for.
Two-way audio with noise cancellation
A far-field microphone array and built-in speaker enable two-way audio talk to a visitor, warn off an intruder, or give delivery instructions directly through the camera. Noise cancellation keeps the audio clear even in windy or noisy outdoor environments.
IP66 + IK08 weather and vandal proof
The AI Turret is built for outdoors:
- IP66 — fully dust-tight and protected against powerful water jets from any direction
- IK08 — impact-resistant to 5 joules, protecting against deliberate tampering or thrown objects
- Aluminium alloy and polycarbonate enclosure corrosion-resistant and tough
- Operating temperature -30°C to 50°C, covering NZ’s full seasonal range
Mount it on an eave, a wall, a pole, or a ceiling indoors or out and it handles whatever the weather does.
One cable, full power
A single PoE+ (802.3at) Ethernet cable carries both data and power to the camera (20W max draw, GbE networking). No separate power run, no adapter at the mount point. Plug into a PoE+ switch or injector and the camera is live.
MicroSD for local backup
An onboard microSD slot (64GB minimum) provides local recording backup so footage is stored at the camera even if the network connection drops temporarily.
Managed through UniFi Protect
The AI Turret integrates natively with UniFi Protect, Ubiquiti’s video management platform. Live view, playback, smart alerts, face and plate databases, motion zones, and privacy masks all from the UniFi console or mobile app, alongside every other UniFi camera on your network.
