802.11n 2×2 MIMO at 2.4GHz

The Loco M2 runs 802.11b/g/n on the 2.4GHz band with 2×2 MIMO, delivering real-world outdoor throughput of 150+ Mbps. The 2.4GHz frequency also offers better penetration through foliage and walls than 5GHz alternatives useful on NZ rural and lifestyle properties where trees sit between buildings.

Integrated 8 dBi antenna in a compact body

No external antenna to buy, align, or weatherproof. The Loco M2’s 8 dBi dual-polarity antenna is built into the slim, UV-resistant enclosure, with optimised cross-polarity isolation for cleaner signal. Point it at the other end of the link, tighten the pole mount, and the antenna is done. The compact form factor keeps it discreet on a wall or pole.

200mW (23 dBm) output reaches where you need it

At 200mW transmit power, the Loco M2 pushes signal across meaningful distances for a device this small and affordable. For point-to-point links between buildings on the same property or short-range CPE connections, it covers the gap comfortably. airMAX TDMA — efficient, scalable wireless

The Loco M2 uses Ubiquiti’s airMAX protocol, a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) system that schedules data transmission in organised time slots rather than letting devices compete for airtime. The result: less interference, better latency, higher throughput, and more predictable performance — especially in point-to-multipoint setups where multiple clients connect to a single base.

Flexible operating modes
