Ubiquiti airMAX NanoStation 5AC Loco (LOCO5AC-5) | 5 GHz CPE · 13 dBi · 5-Pack
Compact 5 GHz airMAX radio for long-range wireless links
The Ubiquiti NanoStation 5AC Loco is a compact, outdoor 5 GHz wireless radio built for point-to-point (PtP) bridges and point-to-multipoint (PtMP) client connections. The airMAX NanoStation 5AC Loco is specifically engineered to deliver high-performance and reliable wireless connectivity over long distances, leveraging Ubiquiti’s proprietary airMAX ac technology. With a 13 dBi integrated antenna, 450+ Mbps throughput, and 10+ km link range, it’s the go-to CPE for wireless ISPs, campus links, and connecting buildings where running cable isn’t practical.
This is the LOCO5AC-5 five-pack five units, ideal for deploying multiple client stations or stocking for PtP link projects. (Note: a PtP link needs two units; a PoE injector is not included.)
airMAX AC with TDMA built for real networks
Standard WiFi struggles when multiple clients compete for airtime. Ubiquiti’s Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) airMAX protocol allows each client to send and receive data using pre-designated time slots scheduled by an intelligent AP controller. This time slot method eliminates hidden node collisions and maximizes airtime efficiency, so airMAX technology provides performance improvements in latency, noise immunity, scalability, and throughput.
That makes the NanoStation 5AC Loco dependable in real-world deployments — urban areas with RF congestion, PtMP networks with many clients, and long links where latency and stability matter.
5 GHz cleaner spectrum, less interference
The device operates in the 5 GHz frequency band, providing access to cleaner frequency bands with less interference compared to the more congested 2.4 GHz band. This choice of frequency, combined with advanced noise filtration and antenna gain control, ensures optimal performance even in areas with high radio congestion, making it an ideal solution for urban and rural applications alike.
13 dBi directional antenna
The antenna offers a gain of 13 dBi, optimized for directional transmission, ensuring focused energy in a specific direction to enhance signal strength and reduce interference. With a 45° beamwidth and dual-linear polarization, it’s tuned for establishing reliable long-distance links rather than broad coverage point it at the far end and lock in the connection.
Dedicated management WiFi fast mobile setup
One of the NanoStation AC’s best features is its separate management WiFi radio. Each NanoStation AC model integrates a separate Wi-Fi radio for fast and easy setup using your mobile device. The UISP/UMobile app provides instant accessibility to the airOS configuration interface and can be downloaded from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), allowing you to set up, configure, and manage your device.
No laptop, no cable connect your phone to the management WiFi and configure the radio right at the pole.
airOS 8 powerful, refined firmware
airOS 8 provides powerful features, including airMAX ac protocol support, real-time RF analytics, and an all-new design for enhanced usability. Configure link settings, monitor signal quality, run spectrum analysis, and manage the radio from a clean, modern interface.
Rugged outdoor build
The NanoStation 5AC Loco measures 179 x 77.5 x 59.1 mm, weighs 180 g, and uses a UV-stabilized polycarbonate enclosure with an included pole mount. It features enhanced protection against ESD events and operates across a wide temperature range, making it dependable in harsh outdoor conditions year-round.
Simple PoE power
The radio uses a single GbE RJ45 port with passive 2-pair PoE, a supported voltage range of 22–27V DC, and a maximum power consumption of around 7–8.5W. A 24V, 0.3A gigabit PoE supply is required but not included Ubiquiti recommends their POE-24 injector. One cable carries both data and power to the radio at the top of the pole.
