Fail-safe egress on a UniFi Access door
The UACC-LOCK-STRIKE-SAFE-15MM is the electric strike Ubiquiti built specifically for exit-side and life-safety doors on a UniFi Access deployment. Wire it straight into a UA Hub relay, energize on 12V DC, and you have a code-friendly opening that releases automatically when power is cut the behaviour required for most main entries, stairwell doors, and any opening tied into a fire alarm interlock.
If you need the opposite behaviour (locked on power loss, for storerooms, IT closets, and interior secure areas), pair the UA Hub with the UACC-LOCK-STRIKE-SECURE-15MM instead. Same footprint, opposite failure mode.
Why installers pick this over a generic strike
Third-party 12V strikes work with a UA Hub, but they turn a five-minute install into a wiring puzzle. This one is designed against the exact relay output on the UA Hub, so:
- Two-wire hookup — 12V/NC (red) and 12V/COM (black) into the hub’s lock terminals. That’s it.
- 400 mA draw at 12V, comfortably inside the UA Hub’s onboard supply.
- Onboard door-position sensor (DPS) — dry-contact loop reports door open/closed straight into the UniFi Access app, no extra magnetic sensor needed on most frames.
- Both mounting plates in the box — 124 mm short plate and 202 mm long ANSI-style plate so you can match the existing mortise without a second parts order.

What this lock is for and what it isn’t
Use it for:
- Front entry, back-of-house, and stairwell doors where egress must remain free during a power failure
- Fire-code openings tied into an alarm relay
- Single-leaf wooden or hollow-metal doors with a standard latch on a UA Hub–managed deployment
Don’t use it for:
- Secure storerooms, IT rooms, cash rooms: you want the fail-secure version so the door stays locked during an outage
- Frameless glass doors and full glass storefronts: use a magnetic lock (UniFi Magnetic Lock) instead
- Double doors without a fixed strike jamb: spec accordingly
