The UCG-Max is Ubiquiti’s compact all-in-one gateway router, firewall, NVR, and UniFi controller in a single device smaller than a paperback book. It runs the full UniFi application suite (Network, Protect, Access, Talk, and Connect), pushes 2.3 Gbps IDS/IPS throughput across five 2.5GbE ports, and records security camera footage to a built-in 512GB NVMe SSD. No separate Cloud Key, no external NVR, no rack just this box on a desk, powered by USB-C.

Five 2.5GbE ports all faster than Gigabit

Every port on the UCG-Max runs at 2.5 Gbps not just Gigabit. That’s one dedicated WAN, one configurable WAN/LAN (for multi-WAN failover), and three LAN ports. With up to four ports reconfigurable as WAN, you’ve got serious flexibility for multi-ISP setups, SD-WAN, and load balancing — all at 2.5G speeds that match modern broadband plans without bottlenecking.

2.3 Gbps IDS/IPS security that doesn’t slow you down

The UCG-Max routes at 2.3 Gbps with full IDS/IPS enabled, so you get real-time intrusion detection and prevention without sacrificing throughput. Most older UniFi gateways (USG, original UDM) had to choose between security features and speed — the UCG-Max handles both.

The integrated 512GB NVMe SSD runs UniFi Protect directly on the gateway, recording footage from up to 15 HD, 8× 2K, or 5× 4K cameras without a separate NVR or Cloud Key. For a small business or home with a handful of cameras, the UCG-Max is the entire system: gateway, controller, and recorder.
