Modular Duplexer Design for Flexible Frequency Configuration

A standout feature of the AF-11FX is its innovative modular duplexer design, which allows for seamless adaptation to various frequency requirements. Unlike fixed-frequency radios, the AF-11FX offers the flexibility to configure its operating frequencies by simply installing the appropriate duplexer module. This modularity ensures that network operators can tailor the device to specific licensing and frequency needs without the necessity of replacing the entire radio unit.

Each duplexer module is engineered with a reversible configuration, providing both low and high channel options. By inverting the duplexer’s orientation during installation, users can select the desired channel configuration, thereby optimizing the radio’s performance to align with specific network requirements.

Duplexer Options: High-Band and Low-Band

To cater to diverse operational needs, Ubiquiti offers two distinct duplexer modules for the AF-11FX:

1. High-Band Duplexer (AF-11FX-DUP-H):

   • Low Channel Frequency Range: 10.940 to 11.200 GHz
   • High Channel Frequency Range: 11.440 to 11.700 GHz

2. Low-Band Duplexer (AF-11FX-DUP-L):

   • Low Channel Frequency Range: 10.700 to 10.955 GHz
   • High Channel Frequency Range: 11.200 to 11.445 GHz

These duplexers are sold separately, allowing network planners to select the appropriate module based on their specific frequency licensing and operational requirements. It’s important to note that the AF-11FX radio does not include a duplexer by default; at least one duplexer is essential for the radio’s operation. For configurations requiring MIMO (Multiple Input, Multiple Output) functionality, two duplexers of the same band type are necessary to facilitate dual-polarity links, thereby enhancing data throughput and link reliability.

The AF-11FX is designed for compatibility with the airFiber X antenna model AF-11G35, ensuring optimal performance and ease of deployment. This combination delivers a powerful point-to-point wireless solution capable of achieving throughputs exceeding 1.2 Gbps over distances up to 300 kilometers, depending on environmental conditions and regulatory constraints.

Incorporating Ubiquiti’s proprietary INVICTUS™ 2 custom silicon, the AF-11FX offers advanced signal processing capabilities, supporting high-order constellations up to 1024QAM.
